Whipple Elementary Receives Overall 5-Star Award from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.

The Perry Local School District proudly announces that Whipple Heights Elementary School has been honored with the Overall 5-Star Award by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. The Overall 5-Star Award was granted to Whipple Heights Elementary following the school’s outstanding results on the 2022-2023 Traditional Report Card. Ohio School Report Cards is a rating system that analyzes five components of a school district: achievement, progress, gap closing, early literacy and graduation. The cards are designed to give parents, communities, educators and policymakers information about the performance of districts and schools — to celebrate achievement and success and identify areas for improvement.


The Overall 5-Star Award is awarded to buildings that exceeded state standards by earning an overall five stars on the Traditional Report Card for their performance across the five components. Erica Mytinger, Principal of Whipple Heights Elementary School, expressed her pride in the Whipple staff and students: "I am very proud of and extend my gratitude to every individual - students, administrators, teachers, and support staff alike - for their distinctive and invaluable contributions culminating in this prestigious recognition. This accomplishment affirms our dedication to providing unparalleled education to every student at Whipple.” Superintendent Nathan Stutz commended the Whipple community, remarking, “This acknowledgment highlights the collective dedication of our educators, support staff, students and parents at Whipple. Congratulations to everyone who played a part in attaining this remarkable accolade.” The receipt of this award reaffirms Perry Local School District's dedication to providing quality education and ensuring every student's success while showcasing their commitment to excellence and “Perry Pride.”

TC Knapp Elementary has been honored with the Overall 5-Star Award by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.

The Perry Local School District proudly announces that TC Knapp Elementary School has been honored with the Overall 5-Star Award by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. The Overall 5-Star Award was granted to TC Knapp Elementary following the school’s outstanding results on the 2022-2023 Traditional Report Card. Genoa Elementary Receives Momentum Award from the Ohio

The Perry Local School District proudly announces that Genoa Elementary School has been honored with the prestigious Momentum Award by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. The Momentum Award recognizes schools that demonstrate exceptional progress in student achievement. To qualify, schools must show significant improvement in their Performance Index, a measure of individual student achievement, by three or more points on the state report card between the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 academic years. This reflects the school's dedication to enhancing the educational outcomes of all students. The award also requires a Value Added rating of 4 or more stars, indicating the school's effectiveness in promoting academic growth among student groups from one year to the next. By achieving these benchmarks, the school showcases its commitment to continuous improvement and ensuring students make substantial strides in their learning journey.
